  • Planning a Karaoke Party ? Now spend less and enjoy more.

It is often said that parties are a success not only because of the arrangements, eats, drinks and entertainment but because of the hosts. Indeed, hosting a party and a Karaoke party at that requires planning that is a bit different from the run of the mill parties you may have been hosting.

Here are 7 tips for you to keep in mind.

    1. a) Remember not to invite only those who are supposedly or proven good singers for the party. Karaoke is something loved by most people and those who are otherwise shy of singing will be tempted and encouraged to give it a try at your party. They are the ones who will enjoy the party more. So keep a perfect mix of good singers and those who cannot sing to save their lives.
    2. b) The Karaoke party is best hosted over a weekend. Shun weekdays as people are just not their carefree selves and are thinking of the next day commitments towards their jobs or children.
    3. c) Be free with your cocktails, beer, snacks. These will help loosen up people and help bring down inhibitions.
    4. d) Do not choose an external venue and stick to your own home. But ensure you have the right equipment though. Nothing can spoil a good musical evening but an erratic sound system or a Karaoke system that has a limited variety of songs, not in sync display on screen and most of all not allowing the user to set speeds of display and so on.
    5. e) Selection of the theme should be such that it is something everybody can relate to and contribute through their singing. Film songs are the most commonly preferred and sought after genres. Sit down with somebody to ensure that popular songs and the ones usually preferred and easy to sing are available on the Karaoke system.
    6. f) Have some sort of competition and announce prizes so that there is interest among the participants. You can go by popular opinion to decide winners to avoid any bias or partisanship. Let the prizes not be more drinks or something trivial.
    7. g) Take the lead and sing the first song to get the mood going. Very often people will then pick up the tempo and participate without shyness. It is always good to lead by example.
